Australia Poems that are easy to understand and hard to forget

Easy to understand Australia poems
I love poems

Australia Poems that are easy to understand and hard to forget.

I write experience and comment,
Reality or fiction.
Please don't lament,
O'er the use of my diction.

Read the first of my Australia Poems now I like to write poems as I find them a good way to express what I'm thinking and feeling about things. I reckon a poem can sometimes make a point and leave a lasting impression far better than a long speech could.

I enjoy writing all kinds of poems with the aim of making them understandable and memorable. I like to use "Australian English" and slang when I write and I hope it adds to the genuine experience of Australia Poems for you. So stay tuned because you're likely to find Australia Poems here about anything or anyone.

I love Australia, especially the Great Outdoors. The website Great Outdoors Australia.com was started to share with everyone the many wonderful ways to experience Great Outdoors Australia and Australia Poems is one of them. But the more I got into it, the more I realised many wonderful ways to experience Great Outdoors Australia were systematically being taken away from us. Gates and mounds of dirt are being put across roads, bush tracks and beach car parks - no sign, no explanation.

Access to public recreation areas is becoming more restricted and in many cases blocked to the everyday person. Money collection machines are being put up in roadside stops that were once free for all people. The trend of having to pay a Government agency or department for a permit or license for the simplest of outdoors activities is increasing at an alarming rate.

There are signs telling us to do this and not to do that. The opportunity and freedom for the everyday person to enjoy Great Outdoors Australia has been greatly reduced and regulated over the years. The following poem about this situation is the first in my collection of Australia Poems and others that I will be publishing on the Internet. Enjoy reading and please remember to respect my Copyright.

Access Blocked

I love being outside,
I love being in the bush.
There's nothing more splendid,
Than a little bit a' shoosh.

While feeling the branches and smelling the leaves,
Fair dinkum - what's happening's giving me the heaves.

Where once it was easy and free to explore,
The roads are now blocked by gates galore.
Don't go here and don't go there,
No explanation, they don't care.

There's a fee for this and a fee for that.
Picnic areas are free no more,
Thanks to the revenue raising whore.
The results of the cash cannot be seen,
Me thinks their motives are highly unclean.

Administration's the name of the game,
Build a flash office and be one of the toffers.
Forget the public, they've no right,
To see "our" animals by day or night.

We know what to do we've been to uni,
We're smarter than you the average loony.
We'll make a new law and stick up a sign,
Do as you're told or we'll cop you a fine.

Who cares about the nation,
It's all about conservation.
We put animals before people,
That's how we think up here on our steeple.

Oh, you'll need a permit to drive "our" beaches,
Everybody, all people, even our preachers.
It's to help, protect and beautify,
Just ask us, would we lie?

Well where's the result for paying our token.
What's to show for taking our dough.
The onramp's gone it's always broken.
You've got our money, that's all you know.

You four wheel drivers pay the tax,
No, you can't have pro rata.
Pay a year for a day,
A permit's just a starter.

It's a business doing leisure with you,
Coastal, inland, or any season.
Pay us here or pay us there,
Saving nature, that's our reason.

We're a part of the Government,
They're not a part of us.
We do what we like,
We drive our own bus.

We feel so important,
Saving the rare and few.
Our pockets are bottomless,
So we can screw you.

To eradicate humans from the bush,
To save it for…Oh!
